On one occasion, the Buddha was present at the Vat Veluvana in Rajagaha. The Buddha delivered a sermon to the 4 groups of his disciples. Anyone, who has the religious faith in the Triple Gem, gives alms, cultivates kindness, observes the 5th and 8th precepts, listen to the the Dharma and recollect the virtues of the Buddha, the Dhamma and the Sangha, after death, will be reborn in the heavenly realm. As for the person who does not give alms and is drunk, after death, will go to hell and as a ghost with suffering.
