Sutmon Doek is the prayers with the text written in Pali and Lao used to recite in the morning chanting and the Buddhist ceremonies by monks, novices and Buddhists. The prayers include Kham Ārāthanā Mangala, Kham Ārāthanā Sila, Kham Ārāthanā Dhamma, Gārava, Buddhaṃ Ayuvaddhanam, Acchatagge, Sambuddhe, 28 Buddhas, 80 disciples, Aviccha, Anekaja Karuna, 7 books of the Abhidhamma, Yassa Karani, Purenta Udenta, Mandadasakaṃ, Atthaṃgika Magga 8, Kammatthana Sutta, Kesason, Kesapatikulā, Caturārakkhā, Pannāparami 30, and etc. Colophon: Folio 71 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat (CS) 1296, a kap set year, the ninth day of the waxing moon of the twelfth lunar month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), a kot nyi day, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). The initiator, Bhikkhu Rattanapannya had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Sutmon doek (Prayers in the early morning) to support the Teachings of the Buddha. May the results of this merit be a disposition and condition to support me through this life and future lives. May I cut the five obstructions off and reach Nibbāna as my wishes. May I obtain arahantship. May this be a condition for me to reach Nibbāna constantly and certainly, the greatest bliss.
