The tale of a while crow. Once upon a time, there was a while crow made its nest on a banyan tree at the bank of Ganga. She had five eggs of the five Bodhisattas. While she was away for long, a heave storm made the tree collapsed. The five eggs had fallen into the river and separated. Later, first egg was taken care by a hen; second egg was taken care by a Naga; third egg was taken care by a turtle; fourth egg was taken care by a cow; and fifth egg was taken care by a lion. This story is known as the chronicle of the five Buddhas including Kakusandho, Gonagamano, Kassapo, Gotama and Ariya Metteyyo. Colophon: Folio 34 on the recto side: Chunlasangkatrasa (CS) 1238, a hwai chai year, on the eighth day of the waning moon of the first lunar month, a huang khai day, the first day of the week (Sunday). Mae I Khon (mother of Miss Khon) had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Ka phüak (the story of a while crow) to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit to support my father, mother, children, grandchildren and relatives. May my wishes and desires come true. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna certainly.
