Dānakhanda the third episode of the Vessantara Jataka. Before Vessantara left Sivi kingdom, he donated “sattasadaka mahadāna” (donation of 7 things, 700 each). Then, he left the kingdom with Queen Maddi, son, Jali and daughter Kanha directing to the Himavan forest. Along the way, a group of paupers came and asked for the royal carriage and horse. He gave them. Finally both of them carried their son and daughter and continued their way by foo to the Himavan forest. Colophon: Folio 19 on the recto side: Buddhist Era (BE) 2472, a kat sai year, the sixth day of the waxing moon of the first lunar month, the first day of the week (Sunday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The great king named Sisavang Vong and his queen Khamfan are the principal initiators sponsored the making of this manuscript-bundle containing 16 fascicles of Maha vessantara sadok and one fascicle of Sòng as 17th, in order to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the of 5000 years. May the results of this merit support us to escaped from the Samsara (round of rebirths) and the five mara (the five destroyers) and finally reach Nibbāna which is the greatest bliss. Ahaṃ arahanti bhikkhuni mama santike ariyametteyyo pāpunāti nibbānaṃ paramaṃ sukkhaṃ niccaṃ dhuvaṃ.
