Kammavaca (the formal words of an act) with the text mostly written in Pali is used for an ordination ceremony. General speaking, the kammavacha (kammavācā) deals with the set of questions and answers which is used in an ordination ceremony. In the ceremony, the ordaining monk must answer several “yes or no” questions posed to him by a monk on his right during a chant called Pha Kammavachanchan (Act-announcing teacher) who faces another monk on the left called Pha Anusavanachan (Ordination proclaiming teacher). Colophon: Folio 16 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat 230 (corresponding with CS 1230), a poek si year, the twelfth day of the waning moon of the seventh lunar month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), a kap set day. The writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). Somdet Rasakhru Sisumangkhalapannya from Vat Savankhathevalok had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sap kammavacha to support the Teachings of the Buddha, in order to the new generation can study and make the Teachings of the Buddha prosperous. On the other hand, may I become intelligent and excel in the Tipitaka which contains the 84 thousand categories and never lose it. May I become an arahanta named Tikkhapannya in the future. May I present at the place of Ariya Metteya Buddha. May this be a condition for me to reach Nibbāna which is the greatest bliss certainly.
