This manuscript contains two stories including sòng phabing phaphutthahup, sòng phakhamphi and sòng phaphan nangsü. Sòng phabing phaphutthahup means the rewards derived from offering the cloth for covering the Buddha statue. Sòng phakhamphi means the rewards derived from giving the cloth for protecting the manuscript. Sòng phaphan nangsü means the rewards derived from giving the cloth for wrapping the manuscript. On one occastion, while residing at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi, the Buddha gave a sermon on offering the cloth for covering the Buddha statue and the cloth for wrapping the manuscript to Maha Moggallana Thera who came to the presence of the Buddha and asked him about this. Colophon: Folio 7 on the recto side: Cunlasakkart thousand 202 (corresponding with CS 1212), a kot set year, the first day of the waxing moon of the third lunar month, a kat pao day. The writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30-9.00 o'clock). Chao Komsiphai and his wife together with their children and relatives had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sappha Sòng, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May our wishes come true. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna. Amen, amen!.
