Sòng bangfai dòk means the rewards of the rockets to worship the Triple Gem. On one occasion, the Buddha was residing at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi. At the time, Venerable Sariputta Thera came to the Buddha and asked the Buddha, ‘Sir, those who have the religious faith and worshiped the Triple Gem with the rockets, what benefits will those receive?’ The Buddha then gave a sermon on the rewards of the rockets to worship the Triple Gem to the Venerable in details. Colophon: Folio 10 on the recto side: In Buddhist Era (BE) 2523, a [kot] san year or a vòk year (the Year of the Monkey), the seventh day of the waxing moon of the fourth lunar month, Thursday. [The writing was accomplished] at noon. Both of us: 1. Sathu Nyai Somdi, abbot of Vat Mai is the sponsor of the blank palm-leaves; 2. Bhikkhu Phan Phonphiboun-Thepphaakson is the sponsor of writing. He tried to inscribe the manuscript in Tham script [by translating from a Thai original] into Lao, in order to use for preaching to people and to make them understand clearly and realize in demerit and merit, goodness and wickedness, heavy and light punishments. The original verson is in Thai script and Thai language. Concern that the listeners would not understand well. So, I translated and inscribed into Tham Lao script, in order to use for preaching to people to understand clearly. May the merit support both of us. May our wishes come true. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna in the future. Amen, amen!.
