The merit derived from making merit on the occasion of an anniversary of birthday. Being born as a human being is hard as depending on the support of the merit that we did in the previous lives. Meeting with the Buddha and having a chance to listen to his sermons are also very hard. Therfore, making merit on a birthday is the most auspicious and meritorious.
