The rewards derived from the cremation of others. Once in the past, in the time of Kasspa Buddha, there were a group of ten cow boys. On day, while they were feeding their cows, they saw a dead bird. They felt pity it, and together cremated the corpse of the bird. Due to the results of the good deed of the cremation, after death, they all were reborn in a heaven. The Buddha also mentioned that the merit derived from making the cremation of other will support the doers for five kap (eons).
