There are two titles in this manuscripts including Sapphahung and Anisong Phitai. Sapphahung : The text of Jayamangala Atthagatha or Buddhajayamangalagatha (Eight Verses of the Buddha’s Auspicious Victories) in Lao version for peaching. Anisong Phitai: The rewards derived from the cremation of a dead. The ten cow boys together cremated the corpse of bird. By the merit of the cremation, after death, they all were born in a heaven. The Buddha also mentioned that the merit derived from cremation of others will support the doers for five kap (eons). Colophons: (1) Folio 34 on the verso side: This Sòng sap was changed some texts, due to it was not correct by the rhyme of the novel. Now it is easier for the reader. Chan (ex-monk) Suk from Sangkhalok village is the scribe. The second day of the waning moon of the nineth lunar month, Friday, at 11.00 o’clock, AD 1962. (2) Folio 35 on the recto side: Buddhist Era (BE) 2505, a hwai nyi year, the second day of the waning moon of the [nineth] lunar month, Friday, at 10.00 o’clock, the writing was accomplished. Sathuphò Phatthaman (Un) Phatthamuni from Vat Mai, Luang Prabang, along with Hòitho (captain) Thit Humphaeng, Nang Khamphu and their children jointly sponsored the making of this manuscript [entitled] Anisong khontai, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit support and destine all of us to attain the supermundane state in this life. When we died, may we enter the crystal city which is Nibbāna. May this Dhamma gift be a condition for us to obtain the extinction of defilements and reach Nibbāna. This Sòng sap was modified some text, because the original was incorrect by its rhyme. So, we changed it for readers and listeners to understand easily. Chan (ex-monk) Suk from Sangkhalok village is the engaged scribe.
