ເນື້ອໃນໄດ້ກ່າວເຖິງ ອະດີດຕະຊາດຂອງພະໂຄຕະມະເຈົ້າແຫ່ງເຮົາ, ປາງເມື່ອພະໂພທິສັດເຈົ້າສະເຫວີຍພະຊາດເປັນນົກຍູງຄໍາ ອາໄສຢູ່ຈອມເຂົາແຫ່ງໜຶ່ງ. ແຕ່ລະມື້ ນົກຍູງຄໍາຈະຮ້ອງສາທິຍາຍສູດມົນ. ວັນໜຶ່ງ ນາຍພານປ່າໄດ້ມາເຫັນ ກໍ່ຄິດຢາກໄດ້ ຈຶ່ງກາງແຮ້ວດັກໄວ້ ແຕ່ນົກຍູງຄໍາ ກໍ່ສາທິຍາຍມົນພ້ອມກັບຢຽບຢໍ່າແຮ້ວຂອງນາຍພານນັ້ນ ໂດຍບໍ່ເປັນອັນຕະລາຍ. ເມື່ອນາຍພານໄດ້ມາເຫັນບ້ວງແຮ້ວຖືກນົກຍູງຄໍາຢຽບ ກໍ່ເກີດຄວາມໂມໂຫ ຈຶ່ງໄປເອົານົກຍູງໂຕເມຍມາລໍ້ນົກຍູງຄໍາ. ເມື່ອນົກຍູງຄໍາໄດ້ຍິນສຽງນົກຍູງໂຕເມຍຮ້ອງ ກໍ່ຟ້າວແລ່ນໄປຫາ ໂດຍລືມສາທິຍາຍມົນ ຈຶ່ງຖືກບ້ວງແຮ້ວຂອງນາຍພານ. ນາຍພານ ເຫັນວ່າ ນົກຍູງຄໍາມີຄວາມງົດງາມ ຈຶ່ງເອົາໄປຖວາຍພະເຈົ້າພາຣານະສີ. ເມື່ອນັ້ນ ພະນາງແກ້ວຣາຊະເທວີ ພະມະເຫສີຂອງພະພາຣານະສີ ຂໍໃຫ້ນົກຍູງຄໍາເທດສະໜາທໍາໃຫ້ຟັງ, ນົກຍູງຄໍາ ຈຶ່ງໄດ້ໃຫ້ໂອວາດຄໍາສັ່ງສອນເສນາອໍາມາດທັງຫລາຍ ກ່ຽວກັບການໃຫ້ທານ, ຮັກສາສີນ, ຟັງທໍາ ແລະຢ່າປະມາດໃນທໍາ. ຄໍາລົງທ້າຍ: (໑) ລານທີ່ ໓ ໜ້າ ໒: ນິຍາຍນົກຍຸງຄໍາ ນີ້ໄດ້ປ່ຽນແປງບາງບ່ອນເພາະບໍ່ຖືກວິພັດນິຍາຍແລະບໍ່ໄດ້ເພີ່ມຕື່ມຢ່າງໃດ ເວັ້ນແຕ່ຕົກກັບເຫລືອ ຈານສຸກ ສັງຄະໂລກ ຜູ້ຂຽນຈ້າງ. (໒) ລານທີ່ ໔ ໜ້າ ໑: ພຸດທະສັງກາດລ່ວງແລ້ວ ໒໕໐໔ ປີຮ້ວງເປົ້າ ເດືອນ ໗ ຂື້ນ ໘ ຄໍ່າ ວັນເສົາ ເວລາ ໘ ໂມງເຊົ້າ ຣິດຈະນາແລ້ວ ໝາຍມີ ສາທຸພໍ່ ພັດທະມານ (ອຸ່ນ) ພັດທະມຸນີ ວັດໃໝ່ ພ້ອມກັນດ້ວຍຮ້ອຍໂທ ທິດຫຸມແພງ ນາງຄໍາຜູ ລູກເຕົ້າຊູ່ຄົນ ໄດ້ສ້າງ ນິຍາຍນົກຍຸງຄໍາ ຜູກນີ້ ສືບສາສະໜາພະໂຄດົມເຈົ້າ ຕາບຕໍ່ເທົ້າ ໕ ພັນວັດສາ ຂໍເດຊະບຸນສ່ວນນີ້ ຈົ່ງມາດົນບັນດານໃຫ້ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າ ໄດ້ບັນລຸອະມັນຕະທໍາມະເຈົ້າດວງປະເສີດ ໃນປັດຈຸບັນນະຊາດນີ້ ດັບຂັນທະທັງ ໕ ແລ້ວ ຂໍໃຫ້ໄດ້ເຂົ້າສູ່ວຽງແກ້ວນີຣະພານກໍຂ້າເທີ້ນ. ອິທັງເມ ທໍາມະທານັງ ອາສາວັກ ຂະຍາວະຫັງ ນິບພານັງ ໂຫຕຸ. ຕາມມູນເດີມນັ້ນແລ້ວ ບໍ່ໄດ້ປ່ຽນແປງ ເວັ້ນແຕ່ຕົກກັບເຫລືອເທົ່ານັ້ນ ຈານສຸກ ສັງຄະໂລກ ເປັນຜູ້ຂຽນຈ້າງ ຂໍໂມທະນາທານນໍາແດ່ ສາທຸ ສາທຸ ອະນຸໂມທາມິ.
The text tellsa a previous existence of Gotama Buddha, when the bodhisattva was born as a golden peacock living on the top of a hill. Every day, the golden peacock prayed mantras. One day, a hunter saw the golden peacock and wanted to get it. So, he set a snare to catch it. But the golden peacock prayed and trampled on the hunter's snare without any danger. When the hunter found out the snare trampled by the golden peacock, he became angry and took a female peacock to lure the golden peacock. When the golden peacock heard the sound of the female peacock screaming, he ran to her, forgetting to pray the magic, and it was trapped. The hunter saw that the golden peacock was beautiful, so he offered it to the king of Varanasi. At that time, Queen Kaeorasathevi, the wife of the king of Varanasi, asked the peacock to give a sermon. The golden peacock therefore gave a sermon to courtiers on the alms-giving, observing precepts, listening to the Dhamma, and not neglecting in the Dhamma. Colophons: (1) Folio 3 on the verso side: This Ninyai noknyungkham was changed the rhyme of the novel somewhere, but no additions, except some mistakes and overwriting. Chan (ex-monk) Suk from Sangkhalok village is the scribe. (2) Folio 4 on the recto side: Buddhist Era (BE) 2505, a huang pao year, the eighth day of the waxing moon of the seventh lunar month, Saturday, at 8.00 am, the writing was accomplished. Sathu Phò Phatthaman (Un) Phatthamuni from Vat Mai, along with Hòitho (captain) Thit Humphaeng, Nang Khamphu and their children jointly sponsored the making of this manuscript [entitled] Ninyai noknyungkham, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit support and destine all of us to attain the supermundane state in this life. When we died, may we enter the crystal city which is Nibbāna. May this Dhamma gift be a condition for us to obtain the extinction of defilements and reach Nibbāna. [This manuscript] was copied by following its original, no changes, but except some mistakes and overwriting. Chan (ex-monk) Suk from Sangkhalok village is the scribe. May I rejoic to this merit.
