Batismos de escravos, livres, forros e índios, 1803-1832

The volume records baptisms of enslaved, freed (forro), free, and indigenous individuals that took place between 13 Jul 1803 and 12 Sep 1832 in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção de Cabo Frio, RJ. Only the opening charter, signed by Vicar Manoel d'Almeida Barreto on 30 Jun 1799, has survived. The volume refers to slaves of the Angolan and English "nation," as well as to slaves belonging to Father João Manoel Porto. The baptism of a child of Lieutenant Henriques Martins de Oliveira is recorded in this volume. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Manoel d'Almeida, Antonio Pereira Ribeiro, Matheus Vicente Sabino, Miguel Lopes de Castro, and Joseph Correa Sá Coelho.
