The volume records baptisms of children born to enslaved mothers after the passage of the Free Womb Law, registered in the Church of Nossa Senhora do Amparo de Maricá, Maricá-RJ. Entries date from 25 Oct 1871 to 4 Jan 1880. There are no opening or closing charters. There are registers of children born to enslaved mothers after the passage of the Free Womb Law as well as of free white people. Both parents are freed (forro) in some of the registers. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Vicar Sebastião de Azevedo Araújo e Gama and Coadjutor Francisco Leite de Almeida Magalhães. Physical characteristics: The volume has no cover and consists of 139 folios that are slightly deteriorated. Dimensions: 45cm x 30cm.
