Псалтырь

Psalter is a liturgical book which is used in services in church and at home. It is one of the oldest Slavonic translations from Greek into Church Slavonic. This manuscript was written in 1520th. It has a lot of additions on the edges of the sheets. These notes are evidence of the continuous using of the manuscript from 16th till 19th centuries. It was restored in the 17th century.

Псалтырь - богослужебная литургическая книга, которая использовалась во время службы в церкви и для молитв дома. Это один из самых ранних славянских переводов с греческого языка. Данная рукопись написана в 1520-е годы . Многочисленные дополнения на полях, сделанные разными почерками, свидетельствуют о постоянном использовании рукописи с 16 по 19 век. Рукопись реставрировалась в 17 веке.

Extent: 1 volume containing 105 folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: Height 17,5 cm, width 13,5 cm, depth 2 cm.

Condition of original material: The manuscript was restored in 17th century, when many folios were glued and lost text was rewritten. At the time two folios (40 and 41) were added to the manuscript. Then the manuscript lost its binding. Second restoration was made in 1980th. New binding was made with cardboard and leather-cloth, folios were sewn together and glued with restoration paper. Edges of many folios are lost, inks are pale.

Custodial history: The manuscript was collected during the archeographical expedition to the Kargopol region in 1965.
