The text tells about Magha Jataka. Once upon a time, the Bodhisatta was born as Magha in the village of Macala, Magadha. He had 32 other companions. All comrades jointly built a pavilion, a road and other public benefits, and observed the precepts and regularly gave amls. The head of the village saw that the young men were causing the lack of criminals, which caused him to lose income from the fees from the villagers who committed violence or broke the law. He went to tell the king that the group of young men were thieves. Thus, the king gave his order to arrest them and kill them by letting an elephant stepped on them. Magha taught his friends to spread loving-kindness to the village chief, the king and the elephant. Thus, the elephant could not step on them, but it ran away. The king wondered what good these thieves had. So, he asked them. Magha told the king that they regularly observed the five precepts. The king then gave his order to forfeiture the head of the village's property and gave them to Magha instead.
