ໃນສະໄໝພຸດທະການ ໃນເມືອງສາວັດຖີຍັງຊາຍຜູ້ໜຶ່ງມີອາຊີບລ້ຽງງົວ ແຕ່ຈ່າງົວຜູ້ນີ້ມີຄວາມເຫຼື້ອມໃສສັດທາໃນພະພຸດທະສາສະໜາເປັນຢ່າງຍິ່ງ ເຂົາໄດ້ສ້າງສາລາຖວາຍໃຫ້ເປັນທານແກ່ເຈົ້າພິກຂຸທັງຫຼາຍ. ວັນໜຶ່ງ ພະສາລີບຸດເຖລະແລະພະອານົນເຖລະໄດ້ເຫັນສາລາຫຼັງນັ້ນ ຈຶ່ງສົນທະນາກັນເລື່ອງອານິສົງຂອງການສ້າງສາລາ ຈາກນັ້ນ ພະອານົນເຖລະ ຈຶ່ງໄດ້ທູນຖາມພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າ ເລື່ອອານິສົງການສ້າງສາລາ. ພະພຸດທະອົງຕັດວ່າ ຈ່າລ້ຽງງົວຜູ້ນັ້ນ ໄດ້ສ້າງຍັງສາລາຖວາຍໃຫ້ເປັນທານ ຈະມີຜະລະອານິສົງເປັນອັນມາກ ຈະມີເຕຊະອານຸພາບ ມີປັນຍາ ແລະມີຍົດສາບັນດາສັກ ຄັ້ນເມື່ອເຂົາຈຸຕິຕາຍໄປກໍ່ຈະໄດ້ໄປເກີດເປັນເທວະບຸດຢູ່ເທິງສະຫວັນຊື່ວ່າ ໂຄປາລະເທວະບຸດ ສະເຫວີຍທິບພະສົມບັດໃນວິມານຄໍາ ອັນສູງໄດ້ ໘ ໂຫຍດ ແລະແວດລ້ອມດ້ວຍນາງຟ້າທັງຫລາຍ. ຄໍາລົງທ້າຍ: ລານທີ່ ໖ ໜ້າ ໒: ສັງກາດຣາຊະໄດ້ຮ້ອຍ ໗໑ (ກົງກັບ ຈ.ສ. ໑໑໗໑) ຕົວ ປີເຕົ່າສັນ ຣິດຈະນາແລ້ວມື້ເຕົ່າສີ່ ຍາມແຖ ມີກວານເຮືອແກ້ວ ກັບທັງພະຣິຍາ ບຸດຕະນັດຕາ ພັນທຸວົງສາ ພ້ອມກັນສ້າງ ສັບພະສອງ ໄວ້ກັບສາສະໜາ. ນິບພານະ ປັດຈະໂຍ ໂຫຕຸ.
In the Buddha’s time, there was a poor man lived in Savatthi. He was a cowherd but had the adent religious faith in the Buddha’s teachings. He had constructed a Sala (pavilion) and donated it to the monks. One day, Venerable Sariputta and Venerable Ananda saw the sala, they conversed each other on the rewards of the consctruction of the sala. Later, Venerable Ananda questioned the Buddha about the benefit of the construction of the sala. The Buddha said, the cowherd built the sala and donated it to the monks, he will gain much merit, get powerful, be wise, and get honoured. After the death, he will be born in the heaven with a gold heavenly castle with eight yojana height and surrouned by angels as his servants. Colophon: Folio 6 on the verso side: Sangkatrasa one hundred and 71 (corresponding with CS 1171), a tao san year, the writing was accomplished] on a tao si day. Kwan Heuankaeo and his wife together with his children and relatives jointly sponsored the making of of this manuscript entitled Sapphasòng to support the Teachings of the Buddha. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna.
