The story pertains to a Yak (giant) who had high rank and one thousand followers. He often ascendeded to present Vessuvan in Chatumaharajika heaven. Vessuvan or Vaisravana was the chief of the four heavenly kings guarding the four directions on Earth. He was also the king of Yaksas and the protector of the north. King Vessuvan asked the giant the reason why he often visited him. The giant replied that he desired a residence in the human world. The king thus gave him ten puzzles. The giant had to ask any human whom he met to figure out the answers. If somebody could answer the questions correctly, the giant had to give silver, gold, and cloth to that person. If not, the giant could feed on them. Then, the giant descended to the world and asked the puzzles to people. Nobody could answer them correctly, so they all became the giant’s food.
