The text tells about the age and the change of the Teachings of the Buddha. On one occasion while the Buddha was dwelling at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi. Venerable Sariputta and Devas questioned the Buddha how are his teachings going on? The Buddha gave a sermon and said that his teachings will disappear from Jambudvipa and Lankadvipa after the 5000 years. After 500 year there is no bhikkhuni. After 1000 years, no Arahants. After 2000 years, no one learns the three baskets by heart. After 3000, no assemblies of the monks for the recitation of the Patimokkha. After 4000 years, a person who has a small piece of the yellow robe on his shoulder, he will be called as a monk. After 5000 years, no monks who teach the teachings of the Buddha. Colophon: Folio 22 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat one hundred 915 (corresponding with CS 1195), a ma seng year, the thirteenth day of the waxing moon of the eighth lunar month, the second day of the week (Monday), a tao chai day, the writing was accomplished at the time of tut sai (between 12.00–13.30 o’clock). Maha Phutthavongsa Rattanapannya and his relatives had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Sang Hòm That (Integration of the Buddha’s Relics) and Vamatthanta That (Tooth Relics of the Buddha) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna constantly. Vamatthanta consists of four fascicles. Sang Hòm That consists of five fascicles. This manuscript belongs to Vat Phonsai temple.
