Kangkhavitarani is a book help to cross over the doubtfulness is the commentary on the Patimokkha in the Vinaya composed by Buddhaghosa in Sri Lanka. This manuscript was inscribed by Pha Maha Aramathipatti from Vat Ton Luang Hua Sao in Lanna in 1797. The text was written in the Nisaya style tells about the meeting of the Sangha for the uposatha (the recitation of the patimokka) which is called ‘parisuddhi uposatha’ the meeting where monks declare their individual purity without the recitation of the patimokkha. The Parisuddhi Uposatha is performed in case the number of monks is two or three. If there is only one monk, he is to resolve: “Today is my uposatha day”. Such an uposatha is known as Adhiṭṭhā Uposatha. Colophon: Folio 31 on the recto side: Cuthasakaphatha (Culasakkarat) 1159, a moeng sai year, the fifth day of the waning moon of the twelfth lunar month, [the writing of this manuscript] was accomplished at the horn diecting to noon (between 9.00-10.30 o'clock), the second day of the week (Monday), a moeng sai day. This manuscript of Sap Kangkhāvitaranī was made by Maha Aramathipatti from Vat Ton Luang Hua Sao to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years definitely.
