Lao customary law on the offences, punishments and fines. For example, Commiting adultery, the woman was tied and beaten but not to die. The man was fined and appoligised. If he was holding the title of mün or saen, he was fined for 1,600 for khan khakho, 800 for khan mai, 1,400 for khan pae, and 200 for khan somma. And etc. Colophon: Folio 59 on the recto and verso sides: Chunlasangkat hundred and 45 (corresponding with CS 1145), a [ka mao] year, the fifth day of the waxing moon of the eighth lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday), a hap pao day, the writing was accomplished at the time of thae kai thiang (between 9.00–10.30 o’clock). The manuscript contains all kings’ law and jurisprudence. Those who do not know about the traditions of villages and cities, look at this king’s law and jurisprudence. You would see all wrong and right things. Chaohua Somdet Ban-om was faithful in the making of this manuscript to prolong the traditional succession and for all children, grandchildren and siblings. May my wishes come true. May I reach Nibbana as the untimate goal. Amen, amen! The letters in this manuscript of mine are not so beautiful. Because I was ordained as a monk at the old age. My hand was rough. Oh, merit! Please support me who is a lonely man. Oh dear girl, I am a poor man in the world, you hate me, it might be beause of my previous karma.
