The text tells about the merit derived from the making of the manuscript called 8 Muen (Eighty thousand) and listening to the preaching of the Tipitaka by monks on various occasions. The good results will support the persons possessing heavenly status with becoming Indra living in Tāvatiṃsa heaven for eighty thousand heavenly years. After the heaven, they will come to the earth and become emperors ruling kingdoms and are respected by people. Colophon: Folio 19 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat 702 (corresponding with CS 1172) 1232, a kot sanga year, on the tenth day of the waxing moon of the ninth lunar month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), a tao set day, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). Thao Khamphio or Chao Phan from Nam Bak village and his wife had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Lam 8 mün 4 phankhan [to support the Teachings of the Buddha] to last until the end of 5000 years. May all our wishes and desires come true, certainly.
