The text tells about the merit derived from the making of the manuscript called 8 Muen (Eighty thousand) and listening to the preaching of the Tipitaka by monks on various occasions. The good results will support the persons possessing heavenly status with becoming Indra living in Tāvatiṃsa heaven for eighty thousand heavenly years. After the heaven, they will come to the earth and become emperors ruling kingdoms and are respected by people. Colophon: Folio 19 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat (CS) 1254, a tao si year, on the eighth day of the waning moon of the twelfth lunar month, the seventh day of the week (Saturday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). Mae-ok Si Noraphan and her husband together with all their children had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sòng 8 mün to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May we all reach the three states of happiness with Nirvana as the ultimate goal in the coming existence. May our wishes and desires not be ignored. Nibbāna paccayo hontu no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ paramaṃ sukhaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna, constantly and certainly, the greatest bliss).
