The Englishman

The File is an issue of the newspaper, The Englishman spanning the months of January to February in the year 1921. Extent and format of original material: One bound volume with 300 folio 7 leaf. Physical characteristics: Both front and back covers are missing. The pages are moth-eaten, yellowed, acidic and very brittle. Edges torn. Marks of foxing, fungal infestation, reverse impressions, patches of colour and rust marks are visible. Loss of text due to fragility and cutting. The spine is loose and damaged. Item was probably exposed to moist conditions. The print is faded and its alignment is askew. Fold marks were present. Pages near the end extremely brittle. Bottom edge of the volume is severely moth eaten. Ink marks present. The volume starts from 5th January and ends on 22nd February. Dimensions: 59. 5x47. 5x3. Volume C, reg. No. C 79.
