Title in original script: சங்கராச்சாரியார் நூல் The manuscript is constituted of a text, written in prose by Caṅkarāccāriyār, which deals with astrology (jōtiṭam). It is formed of palm leaves numbered from 1 to 68; the leaves 42 to 44 and 46 to 54 are missing. The manuscript is in excellent condition. The text provides information on lakṉam (astrological features at the birth), on the position of planets and the horoscope-based predictions. The Jōtiṭa Cāstiram consider nine planets (cantiraṉ, putaṉ, kuru, cukkiraṉ, caṉi, cūriyaṉ, rāku, kētu, cevvāy). The horoscope-based predictions are defined according to their position at birth. The jōtiṭam describes the tacā pukti, the periods marked by good or bad effects resulting from the placement of planets, the antaram, the internal division of pukti, time of birth (lakṉam) and the rāci, the zodiacal sign. The zodiac sign is defined according to the distance between the path used by the nine planets which is divided into 27 equal parts corresponding to 27 stars. Size of the manuscript: 32,0cm x 3.2cm. The palm leaves which compose the text are numbered from 1 to 69. The leaves 42-51 and 53-54 are missing. The manuscript is in excellent condition.
