Description: This handmade envelope contains nine stationary envelopes containing photos, newspapers’ and magazines’ articles and clippings, original typewritten documents, and invitations on the Círculos de Damas (or Circles of Ladies) were and still are charitable societies of the higher middle and high classes of different cities and towns in Argentina. This first envelope comprehends the Círculos de Damas that start with the letter “A” and end with the ones with the letter “C,” among them: Ladies from the province of Catamarca (“Damas catamarqueñas Círculo”), The Catholic Association of Ladies (“Damas Católicas Asociación de“), Society of Charitable Ladies (“Damas de Caridad Sociedad”), Argentine Ladies pro National Traditions (“Damas Argentinas pro Tradiciones Patrias”), Association of the Argentine Ladies in favour of the Nation and the Home (“Damas Argentinas Asociación Patria y Hogar”), Circle of Ladies from Córdoba (“Damas Cordobesas Círculo”), Ladies for the Protection of the Worker” (“Damas Protectoras del Obrero Centro”), and the Circle of the Ladies from Corrientes (“Damas Correntinas Círculo”).
