প্রমীলা নজরুল ইসলাম সংক্রান্ত চিঠিপত্র

Pramila Nazrul Islam's correspondence (1950-1959) reveals her central role in managing family affairs during her husband's illness. Her letters document both incoming communications from diverse sources and her outgoing letters to family members and officials. Notable correspondents include Ali Hussain (1950), Kshitish Debnath from Jadavpur University (1958), and Prof. Abdur Rashid from Faridpur who offered to publish Nazrul’s Islamic poems. She maintained governmental connections, corresponding with Chief Minister Prafulla Chandra Sen and documenting the poet’s treatment by Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Her letters to family members, particularly to “Maa Chabi” (Kalyani Kazi) and her son “Nini” (Kazi Aniruddha), candidly describe the family’s financial hardships and health struggles. One poignant letter documents Nazrul’s wandering off to Shailajananda Mukherjee's house and getting lost, which provides a rare insight into his condition. The collection demonstrates Pramila’s extensive network spanning West Bengal, Bihar, and East Pakistan (Dacca).
