The collection consists of exercise books, letters, photographs, prescriptions relating to Kazi Nazrul Islam, and an Al Qu'ran originally belonging to the village.
Extent: 13 exercise books, 34 letters, 2 photographs, 2 prescriptions and 1 Al-Quran.
Custodial history: The material, except the Al Qu'ran, was originally owned by the family members of the poet in Kolkata. Later on the family members at Churulia were made custodians of the whole collection who subsequently donated it to the museum that had been looked after by the Nazrul Academy, a voluntary organisation. Finally, it came under the custody of the Registrar of Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol, West Bengal, India. The Al Qu'ran belonged to the village mosque in Churulia, subsequently donated to the Churulia Museum and Library by the poet's family in the village.
Arrangement: Arranged randomly by the family members of the poet in Churulia. The same arrangement has been followed for digitising the exercise books. The serial numbers 1-12 follow this arrangement. No formal classification scheme has been followed. Similarly, the letters, photographs and other archival documents were also arranged randomly by the family members of the poet in Churulia. The BLEAP1612 team rearranged the archival material based on the addressees and the addressers mentioned in the letters, and the signatories in othe documents. The Al Qu'ran is serialised separately and the serial number is given by the BLEAP1612 team.
