This bound book contains information from postulants who wished to be accepted as religious within the Franciscan Order. The book contains 92 files of 92 postulants to the Order, of which 68 are from the 17th century, 17 from the 18th century and 7 from the 19th century. Of this total, 27 applied for lay religious, 23 for choir religious and 40 for unspecified religious (due to having an incomplete file). There are cases where it is mentioned that priestly clergy wish to take the Franciscan habit. In some cases, it presents incomplete documents, that is, the applicant's application, baptism certificate is missing; or in other cases, it only presents the questionnaire made to the witnesses on the faith and good conduct of the applicant or only the information on the legitimacy of the applicant. The geographical origin of the applicants is varied: 82 of them are of peninsular or European origin (Vizcaya, Calatrava, Santander, San Sebastián (Basque Country), Bayona (Galicia), Vitoria (Basque Country), Guipúzcoa (Basque Country), Venice , Burgos, Andalusia, Castilla, Aragón, Navarra, Córdoba, Alcalá de Henares, Seville, Extremadura, Lepanto, Cáceres, Toledo, France, Pamplona, Valencia, Tenerife), while the remaining 10 are of Creole or mestizo origin (Lima, Callao, Chile, Popayán (Colombia), Huaura (Peru), Zaña (Peru), Huánuco, Pisco, Quito, Moquegua).

El libro contiene 92 expedientes de 92 postulantes a la Orden, de los cuales 68 son del siglo XVII, 17 del siglo XVIII y 7 del siglo XIX. De este total, 27 postulaban para religiosos Legos, 23 para religiosos del Coro y 40 para religiosos sin especificar (por tener el expediente incompleto). Existen casos en donde se menciona que clérigos presbíteros desean tomar el hábito franciscano. En algunos casos, presenta documentos incompletos, es decir, falta la solicitud del postulante, partida de bautizo; o en otros casos, solo presenta el cuestionario hecho a los testigos sobre la fe y buena conducta del postulante o solamente la información de legitimidad del postulante. La procedencia geográfica de los postulantes es variada: 82 de ellos son de origen peninsular o europeo (Vizcaya, Calatrava, Santander, San Sebastián (País Vasco), Bayona (Galicia), Vitoria (País Vasco), Guipúzcoa (País Vasco), Venecia, Burgos, Andalucía, Castilla, Aragón, Navarra, Córdoba, Alcalá de Henares, Sevilla, Extremadura, Lepanto, Cáceres, Toledo, Francia, Pamplona, Valencia, Tenerife), mientras que los 10 restantes son de origen criollo o mestizo (Lima, Callao, Chile, Popayán (Colombia), Huaura (Perú), Zaña (Perú), Huánuco, Pisco, Quito, Moquegua).

Condition of original material: It has charred leaves (ink corrosion) on some pages. Likewise, it presents perforation of xylophages. The book was previously intervened by placing Japanese paper on some pages that presented serious damage (perforations and/or corrosion).
