The content tells about the Vinaya Pitaka on the topic of trainings or the rules, prohibitions and practices related to monks, containing Saṁvarasīla (restraint by the precepts) or called Pātimokkha-saṁvara which means restraint by the monastic code of discipline in the 227 precepts. Moreover, the text also tells about the threefold training, article to be studied, the main practices for studying are the training of the body, speech, mind and wisdom to reach the ultimate goal of nirvana. The threefold training consists of training in higher morality, training in higher mentality, and training in higher wisdom. Colophon: Folio 25 on the verso side: Chunlasangkatrasa (CS) 1240, a poek nyi year, on the fifth day of the waning moon of the sixth lunar month, Tuesday, a ka khai day, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). The initiator, Sao Bua from Xiang Maen village sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Lam Pitaka, fascicle 2, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana. May all my desires and wishes come true.
