Navakovada means the instructions for newly-ordained monks is a book including the Dhamma in brief from the Tipitaka for training the newly-ordained monks. The text of this manuscript tells about Anusasana, instructions that are the basic instruction that the preceptors must teach the newly-ordained monks, including 8 ones and divided into Nisaya 4, the fourfold activity that must be folloewed and Akaraniyakicca 4, the fourfold deed which should not be done. The last part tells about the 227 precepts of bhikkhus. Colophon: Folio 38 on the verso side: [The writing was accomplished] at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). Chao Mòm (Monk) Pheng from Sae village is the scribe of this Navakovat for Ban Dan village.
