A Brahmin named Suba lived in Gamma village in Savatthi. He was faithfull in Buddhism, so he made a cotton house containing various materials such as food, robes and medicines along with pounded rice and flowers and then offered to the monks at the Jetavana monastery where the Buddha was presiding. At the time, Suba Brahmin asked the Buddha why the giving of alms had to consist of many alms objects? Another way, giving alms without verbal, but just offer it, and giving alms by words together with raising the offering, what kinds of almsgiving is better? The Buddha gave a sermon to Suba Brahmin who listened to it thoroughly and clearly.
