Therabhiseka (to pour water on a venerable) ceremony. In the Buddha’s time, King Pasenadi questioned the Buddha about the profits derived from making a Therabhiseka. Then the Buddha delivered a sermon giving a story. Once a king named Vijaya ruled Visala city. The king had religious faith in the Teachings of the Buddha and ruled his citizents by royal virtues. One day, the king together with his followers organized a Therabhiseka ceremony for great monks. When he died, he was born in a heaven and possessed heavenly properties. Colophon: Folio 12 on the verso side: Sò (Sangkat) (CS) 1297. Rattanapannya sponsored the palm leaves and Rattanapannya is the scribe, sponsored the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sòng Therābhiseka (Rewards derived from the organization of watering ceremony), to support the Teachings of the Buddha.
