Sap Thammachak or words in the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta is transalation and explanding from Pali language into Lao language. Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta is the discourse that the Buddha delivered to pancavaggiya (five ascetics) at Isipatana Marugadayavana near the city of Varanasi, with the content telling kamasukhallikanuyoga, immersed in sensual pleasures, and attakilamathanuyoga, cultivating one’s own suffering. These are the useless actions. Majjhima patipada of the eighthfold path is the way to enlightenment. Ariya sacca is the four noble truths. Colophon: Folio 25 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat (CS) 1274, a tao chai year, the fourth day of the waning moon of the fourth lunar month, a kot si day, [the writing was accomplished] at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). Phia Chan La and his wife, Princess Phaengta had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Sap Thammachak (Words of Dhammacakkappavattana) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit support the parent of Phia Chan La and the parent of Princess Phaengta. On the other hand, may the results of this merit support our sons, daughters and relatives who already died to the other world. Even if they are in the suffering place, may they be moved from the suffering and reach happiness. Moreover, may both of us, husband and wife achieve our wishes, certainly and constantly.
