On one occasion, the Buddha was dwelling at the Veluvana monastery spoke about a hunter named Kukkutamitta. There was a rich man's daughter living in the palace on the seventh floor. One day she saw the hunter Kukkutamitta driving a wheelbarrow to sell meat from the window. As the two of them used to have made merit together in the past, so she fell in love with that hunter and ran away to live with the hunter until she had seven children. One day the Buddha saw the habit of the hunter's family to be able to reach the Dharma, so he went to give them with a sermon. As soon as the sermon was over, the hunter along with his wife and all their children attained Sotāpana. Princess Kham On had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this first manuscript-bundle entitled Dhammapada to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna paranaṃ sukhaṃ (Nibbāna is greatest bliss).
