In the Buddha’s time, there was a danger with people of Aranyakham village. Many people died with cholera. They came to the Buddha while staying at the Veluvanna monastery and asked him for help to stop the disease. The Buddha accompanied with Ananda Thera and other monks went to the village. On the next day, the people brought food and water to offer the Buddha and monks. After meal, they dedicated the merit of offerings to the spirits of lands, of buildings, and sambhavesi (spirit seeking rebirth). Thereafter the situation became normal. May all my wishes come true. Sadhu, nibbāna paccayo hotu me (May this be a condition for me to reach Nibbāna).
