[Personal diaries and notes of Komal Kothari]

This is a notebook containing notes and personal writings of Komal Kothari. The first few pages contain contact information of various people followed by mention of Habib and Monica Tanvir's visit to Borunda and cost analysis of their workshop. A few pages are dedicated to the regional deities, their identifying features and bhopas of respective villages. A large part of the notebook is on the visual analysis of Par painting tradition of Rajasthan including narratives and exegetic commentaries given by artists themselves, diagrams/layouts of Par paintings and record of expenses on Par paintings. An ethnographic note on the local sculptor Mohanlal ji and his family also includes the processes of sculpting idols and visual features of idols of local deities. Transcription of songs of late Hasna ji Manganiar along with a list of villages of Manganiars is followed by a series of brief notes on Kamaicha and its melodies and rhythm patterns; Burrakatha from Andhra pradesh; an essay to be written and on Puppetry and Madari. The last few pages contain regeonal riddles and couplets, list of Teratali artists and rhythm patterns and compositions of the Manganiar community.
