Prince Madrais Alibasa Manuscript No. 16B

The manuscript No.16B is written in a set of loose folios. There are two sizes of paper; 34 x 21.5 cm and 35 x 21.5 cm. The condition of paper is brittle perforated, taped, and yellowing. The ink penetrates to the reverse side. The writing is faded but still readable. In this manuscript, Prince Madrais describes historical facts about his life and society during the Dutch colonial era. He wrote a letter to Queen Juliana because his country was seized and got into destruction. Being judged in Tasikmalaya court, he had a strong desire to defend his homeland. Many traditional leaders were suffering and prosecuted. Then, he described his genealogy that from his mother he is a descent of Tumenggung Jayadipura. He also explained his teaching and observation. Who has java land? Java land is named as java land because there are Javanese people. Every nation is required to hold its spiritual ways. If citizens do not know their resposibility and rights, it will cause desctruction of the state. Conducting the religious teaching without the consciousness of God's determination will be useless. He just only reminded the importance of God’s determination. Even if someone is smart, he/she might not know what God's determination is. In the reality, many people sold name of God and angel.
