A girl is sitting on the decorated platform of lotus and elephants shaped design in the front, and a mandap (a temple porch) like place to sit at the back. She is adorned with jewells- tight necklace(attigai),long chain with big pendant,flower garland(poomalai),finger rings(modhiram),armlet(vanki ),Bulakku is worn on the columella (skin in the center of the nose separating either sides of the nostril),Maattal (chain shaped jewel used to hook in the hair from the ear ring stud or nose stud), customary symbol on the forehead(pottu) and a crown over the head. In the front there are two oil lamps kept on the either sides of the bride. Two plates are kept in the middle that has a small vessel containg sandal(chandanam) and rose water.
