With a peculiar title, The 'Investigador Africano' presents itself as a satirical newspaper opposing both anarchism and greed, traits it attributes to Agustín Gamarra. Con un peculiar título, "El Investigador Africano" se presenta como un periódico satírico enemigo del anarquismo y la avaricia, ambos aspectos -según el periódico- encarnados en la personalidad de Agustín Gamarra. El periódico culpa a Gamarra de haber sobrepuesto sus ambiciosos intereses personales en perjuicio del bienestar nacional al hacer un golpe de Estado contra José de la Mar en tiempos de posguerra. La defensa de la integridad de La Mar y la injusticia cometida contra él es reiterada en el contenido del periódico. Nota: las cuatro páginas que contiene el primer número de "El Investigador Africano", han sido compaginadas en desorden. Sin embargo, ambos números aquí contenidos están completos.
