The content tells the story of Tissa Buddha. Prince Tissa was the son of King Janasanda and Queen Pathumma of Mekkhara kingdom. The Prince had three castles called Guhasela, Sena, and Nisaba respectively, and 33,000 concubines with Subhatta as queen. The Prince lived as an ordinary man for 7,000 years. When Queen Subhatta gave birth to Ananda, the prince saw four divine messengers. He then rose on the horse named Sonuttara to ordain as an ascetic. Number of one koti of people followed him. The ascetic had practiced for eight months. On the full moon day of the sixth lunar month the ascetic had a meal of madhupayasa rice offered by the daughter of a millionaire named Vira of the village of Virakam. In the afternoon, the ascetic received eight handfuls of cogon grass from a garden-watchman named Vijita Sangamaka. The ascetic put the grass as the seat under the Bodhi tree. He attained enlightenment and became a Buddha at dawn. Colophon: Folio 26 on the recto side: Buddhist Era (BE) 2488, a hap hao year, on the sixth day of the waxing moon of the tenth lunar month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The initiators, Saen Mai Thit Onsi and his wife Saen Kaeo from Xiang Maen village sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Phutthavong (Buddhavaṃsa) to dedicate the merit to father named Ai Phaeng, Sao Bun or Nang Phia On, Sao Chanpheng, Sao Pu, Sao Bem, Sao Kham, Thit Ma, Thit Pheng, Thit Khamphan, Xiang Thongdi and Xiang Tan. May the results of this merit move them to a good place, even if they are in a good place, may they be better than ever by one hundred and one hudren thousand times, and to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May I attain Arahantship. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana.
