The content tells the story of Sumana Buddha. The Bodhisatta was born in the royal family of Mekkhala Nakhon. His father named King Sudata and his mother named Queen Sirima. Prince Sumana lived in three castles called Sirivatthana, Somavatthana, and Itthivatthana for 9,000 years. He had his queen named Princess Vatamsikadevi. A son named Anupama Kumara. When he saw the four signs, he was so sad. He then left the worldly life and ordained as an ascetic and later became the Buddha. He had two distinguished disciples namely Sarana Thera on the right, and Bhavitatta Thera on the left. His female distinguished disciples namely Sona Theri and Upasona Theri. His attendant named Udena Thera. His two lay man supporters named Aruna and Sarana. His two lay woman supporters named Cara and Upacara. Colophon: Folio 26 on the recto side: Buddhist Era (BE) 2488, a hap hao year, on the sixth day of the waxing moon of the tenth lunar month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The initiators, Saen Mai Thit Onsi and his wife Saen Kaeo from Xiang Maen village sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Phutthavong (Buddhavaṃsa) to dedicate the merit to their father named Ai Phaeng and others namely Thit Ma, Thit Pheng, Thit Khamphan, Xiang Tan, Xiang Thongdi, Sao Kham, Sao Bem, Sao Bun, Sao On, Sao Chanpheng and Sao Pu. May the results of this merit move all of them from suffering, and to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May we reach the three states of happiness with Nirvana as the ultimate goal.
