ສັດຕະນິບາດ (ຜູກ ໒)

Sattanipāta contains a collection of jatakas that tells the history of the perfections performance of the Buddha in the time he was a Bodhisatta. The Buddha preached the jatakas to his followers on various occasions in order to tell the principles and proverbs that the Lord Buddha wanted. In each life, the Bodhisatta had performed the perfection in a full and intense way, taking his life as a bet and had a different distinction. This series of manuscripts has many stories, such as, Manoja Jataka is about the association of bad people does not bring lasting happiness, Gijjha Jataka is about the power of obligation, Upananda Jataka is about Venerable Upananda Sākyaputta, Dabbhapupphā Jataka is about the punishment of arguing, Mahosatha Jataka is about the perfection of wisdom, Mahā Umaṅgala Jataka is about being blessed, etc. Colophon: Folio 25 on the recto side: Sangkat 172 (corresponding with CS 1172), a kot sanga year, on the eighth day of the waxing moon of the seventh lunar month, the seventh day of the week (Saturday), the twelfth lunar month, [the writing was accomplished] at the time of tut sai (between 12.00–13.30 o’clock) in the afternoon. Bòrommanāt bòrommabòphit sisattanakharahuttanu suvannaphūmintha (the royal king) had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Dhammadesanā (Dhamma for preaching) to prolong the Buddha’s successor.
