The text tells the story of the Buddha. After the enlightenment and becoming a Buddha, the Buddha travelled to Isipatana Marugadayavana in Varanasi and preached the first sermon of Dhammacakkappavattana Discouse to the five ascetics, and stayed there for the Buddhist Lent as his first year after his enlightenment. Thereafter, the Buddha went to Rajagaha and met King Bimbisara. Colophon: Folio 32 on the recto side: Sangkatrasa (CS) 1271, a huang khai year, the ninth day of the waning moon of the third lunar month, a ka khai day, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), [the writing was accomplished] at night. Phia Sitthpannya, head of the sub-district of Khingmuak together his wife, all children, and relatives had the ardent religious faith and looked for the palm leaves to make this manuscript entitled Pittaka thang 3 (The three baskets) containing the teachings of the Buddha to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May I be born as the teacher of the world and bring all the creatures to across the round of rebirths and reach Nibbāna. May my wishes not be ignored. Nibbāna is the greatest bliss certainly.
