The Story of Samanera Sanu (Novice Sanu). Novice Sanu was ordained since his young age. When he was gruw older, he wanted to return to the life of a lay man. His mother and the giantess who had been the mother of the young novice in a previous existence tried to remind the novice about panalties of household ownership and the merits of ordination. Finally, they both could convince him. Whenever, the novice was mature for the ordination of a bhikkhu, his mother prepared robes and alms-bowl for him. Then the novice was ordained as a monk. After being ordained as a monk. The Buddha taught the new ordained monk of Sanu about the restraint of mind said, "Ordinarily, this mind travelling in various moods. So, happiness can not be found by the one who does not restrain the mind. Therefore, one should strive to restrain the mind as a mahout trying to subdue an elephant with a hook.".
