Lem Luang is used to preach a sermon depicting a king in Sri Lanka who had collected thousand manuscripts which were recorded the teachings of the previous four Buddhas from various places. Some manuscripts were brought from the sky kingdom by arahants. Anyone who has the faith to make a copy of this Lem luang or make worship to it will gain much merit innumerably. Indra will be kind of the person. Anyone who has a chance to listen to the Lem luang will gain merit. After death, the one will be reborn as great kings in the future lives. The person will be respected and beloved by people. Colophon: Folio 10 on the recto side: The writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock) on the first day of the waning moon of the eighth lunar month, the fifth day of the week (Thurday). Mòm (Princess) Phui had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript rntitled Lem Luang to support the Teachings of the Buddha. May my wishes and desires come true. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana. My gift is pure. Nirvana is the greatest bliss certainly.
