ໃນສະໄໝໜຶ່ງ ພະຜູ້ມີພະພາກເຈົ້າປະທັບຢູ່ໃນປ່າອິສິປະຕະນະມິຄະທາຍະວັນ ເມືອງພາຣານະສີ ຊົງປາຣົບເຖິງນັນທິຍະອຸບາສົກ. ນັນທິຍະເປັນລູກຊາຍຄົນດຽວຂອງຄອບຄົວຄະຫະບໍດີໃນເມືອງພາຣານະສີ. ທຸກຄົນໃນຄອບຄົວຄະຫະບໍດີລ້ວນແລ້ວແຕ່ມີຄວາມເຫຼື້ອມໃສສັດທາໃນພະຣັດຕະນະໄຕ ໄດ້ທໍານຸບໍາລຸງພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າແລະພະພິກຂຸສົງເປັນນິດ. ພໍ່ແມ່ຢາກໃຫ້ນັນທິຍະແຕ່ງງານກັບນາງເຣວະດີເຊິ່ງເປັນລູກສາວຂອງເພື່ອນບ້ານ ເພື່ອ ຈະໄດ້ມີທາຍາດສືບທອດສະກຸນ. ແຕ່ນັນທິຍະບໍ່ຢາກແຕ່ງກັບເຣວະດີ ເພາະຮູ້ນິໄສຂອງນາງວ່າ ເປັນຄົນບໍ່ໃຫ້ທານ ບໍ່ເຫຼື້ອມໃສໃນພະພຸດທະສາສະໜາ ຈິ່ງປະຕິເສດ. ແຕ່ພໍ່ແມ່ຂອງທ່ານນັນທິຍະຍັງປັກໃຈຢາກໃຫ້ລູກແຕ່ງງານກັບນາງເຣວະດີໃຫ້ໄດ້ ຈຶ່ງເຊີນນາງເຣວະດີມາຍັງເຮືອນ ແລ້ວໃຫ້ຊ່ວຍຈັດສະຖານທີ່ຊ່ວຍງານທໍາບຸນລ້ຽງພະພິກຂຸສົງ ນາງເຣວະດີກໍ່ເຮັດເປັນຄົນວ່ານອນສອນງ່າຍ ເຮັດທຸກຢ່າງຕາມທີ່ພໍ່ແມ່ຂອງນັນທິຍະບອກ ຈົນນັນທິຍະຍອມຮັບແລະຍອມໃກ້ຊິດ ໃນທີ່ສຸດກໍ່ໄດ້ແຕ່ງງານກັນ. ຄໍາລົງທ້າຍ: (໑) ລານທີ ໒໕ ໜ້າ ໒: ສັງກາດຣາຊະໄດ້ ໕໙ ຕົວ (ກົງກັບ ຈສ. ໑໐໕໙) ປີເມິ່ງເໝົ້າ ເດືອນ ຍີ່ ຂຶ້ນ ໑໒ ຄໍ່າ ພໍາໄດ້ວັນຈັນ, ຜູກຕົ້ນ. (໒) ລານທີ ໒໖ ໜ້າ ໑ ແລະ ໒ ມີເນື້ອຄວາມຄືກັນ: ຈຸນລະສັງກາດຣາຊະໄດ້ ໕໐໒ (ກົງກັບ ຈສ. ໑໐໕໒) ຕົວ ປີກົດສະງ້າ ເດືອນ ຈຽງ ກອນແຂນໄວ້ ເດືອນ ຍີ່ ອອກຄໍ່າ ໑ ວັນ ໗ ພະຂະນານສຸວັນເຈົ້າ ມີໃຈໃສສັດທາສ້າງ ນິໄສ[ທໍາມະບົດ] ໄວ້ກັບສາສະໜາພະເຈົ້າ ຕາບຕໍ່ເທົ້າ ຫ້າ (໕) ພັນວັດສາ ນິບພານະ ປັດຈະໂຍ ໂຫຕຸ.

On one occasion, the Buddha was present in the forest of Isipatanamikadayavana in Varanasi and spoke to his disciples about lay Buddhist Nandiya. Nandiya was the only son of a business family in Varanasi. Everyone in the business family had the religious faith in the Triple Gem and had been nurturing the Buddha and monks regularly. His parents wanted Nandiya to marry Revadi who was a neighbor's daughter so that they would have an heir. But Nandiya did not want to marry Revadi because he knew her habit of not giving alms and not shining in Buddhism, so he refused. But his parents still wanted their son to marry Revadi. So they invited Revadi to come to their house and help arrange the place for the ceremony to raise the monks. Revadi acted like an easy-going person and did everything as Nandiya's parents told her until Nandiya accepted and agreed to be close. Finally, they got married. Colophons: (1) Folio 25 on the verso side: Sangkatrasa 59 (corresponding with CS 1059), a moeng mao year on the twelfth day of the waxing moon of the second lunar month, Monday. First fascicle. (2) Folio 26 on the recto and verso sides has the same text: Chunlasangkatrasa 502 (corresponding with CS 1052), a kot sanga year on the first day of the waxing moon of the first lunar month, the seventh day of the week (Saturday). Pha Khanan Suvan Chao had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Nisai [Dhammapada] to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna paccayo hontu (May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna).
