The content tells the performance of the perfections of Gotama Bodhisatta since his initial wish for becoming a Buddha until his existence as Prince Vessantara. In this life, the Bodhisatta was born in the family of Sakaya as Prince Siddhartha. When he was 29 years old he saw four signs he left the worldly life for an ascetic hood. He practiced for 6 years. On the full moon day of the Visakha, sixth month, the ascetic had a meal of madhupayasa rice from Sujata and received eight handfuls of grass from Sotiya Brahmin. Then he put the grass as a crystal seat under the Bodhi tree and attained enlightenment at the night. Colophon: Folio 44 on the recto side: Buddhist Era 2 thousand and 486 (corresponding with BE 2486), a kap san year on the eighth day of the waxing moon of the first lunar month, a ka mao day, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng vat (between 15.00–16.30 o’clock). Sathu (Prince) Saisanit and his wife, Mòm (Princess) Bua and Prince Vut sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Phutthaphisek to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May we all reach the three states of happiness with Nirvana as the ultimate goal. May our wishes and desires not be ignored, constantly and certainly, the greatest bliss. May I become a Buddha in the future.
