Sūtmon means the chanting texts written in Pali, which are used by monks to recite at the merit-making ceremonies. The text starts with the chapter of legend introduction, Vanditvā and ends with the chapter of Ātānātiya-parittam or Vipassi (Homage to the past Buddas). Colophons: (1) Folio 13 on the verso side: The writing was accomplished in the morning. My handwriting is not so beautiful. Please consider if there have some mistakes or overwriting. (2) Folio 14 on the recto side: Chunlasangkatrasa (CS) 1295, a ka hao year, the tenth day of the waxing moon of the eighth lunar month, the first day of the week (Sunday), the writing was accomplished in the morning. Somdet Sangkharasa Rattanapannya from Vat Sisavanthevalok had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sutmon nòi, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit be character and a condition to support me in this life and the future lives to last until attaining Nibbāna. May this be a condition for me to reach Nibbāna certainly and constantly.
