ໜັງສືພະວິໄນ ອະທິກອນ (ການຖົກຖຽງ) ໝາຍເຖິງເລື່ອງທີ່ເກີດຂຶ້ນແລ້ວຄະນະສົງຈະຕ້ອງລະງັບແລະດໍາເນີນການຕາມພະທໍາມະວິໄນ. ອະທິກອນມີ ໔ ປະເພດຄື: ໑. ວິວາທາທິກອນ ຄື ການວິວາດຖົກຖຽງກັນກ່ຽວກັບພະທໍາວິໄນ. ໒. ອະນຸວາທາທິກອນ ຄື ການຟ້ອງຫຼືກ່າວຫາກັນດ້ວຍອາບັດ, ໓. ອາປັດຕາທິກອນ ຄື ການຕ້ອງອາບັດ, ການປັບອາບັດ ແລະການແກ້ໄຂຕົວເອງໃຫ້ພົ້ນອາບັດ. ໔. ກິດຈາທິກອນ ຄື ເລື່ອງທີ່ເປັນກິດຂອງສົງຈະຕ້ອງຈັດທໍາເປັນສັງຄະກໍ່າ ເຊັ່ນ ໃຫ້ອຸປະສົມບົດ, ໃຫ້ຜ້າກັນຖິນ.
Vinaya text on Adhikarana (dispute) which means when a case happened the Sangha must settle and solve the problem in the way of Dhamma and the Vinaya. The t four kinds of disputes namely: 1. Vivadadhikarana: Disputes on the Dhamma and Vinaya. 2. Anuvadadhikarana: Accusations and disputes with offences. 3. Apattadhikarana: Infringement of any disciplinary rules, penalty, and rectifying oneself freed from the offence. 4. Kiccadhikarana: Formal meeting of decision made by the Sangha such as ordination, Kathina ceremony.
