Thammabot or Dhammapada with the whole text written in Pali means a word of the doctrine is the name of a scripture of Suttanta Pitaka Khuddaka Nikaya. The Dhammapadas are the Buddhist proverbs that the Buddha said to different people, different deeds, different agendas, and different places. They are short words of the doctrine in the form of verses composed as poems. Each of the Dhammapadas is the truth and is the immortal speech of the Buddha. There are 423 verses in the Dhammapada; if counted as the stories that the Buddha talked about, there are 302 stories. Every verse in the Dhammapada is important. It is used as a guideline for doing good deeds, it will benefit as desired.
